What is a slug?
A slug is a few words that describe a post or a page.
- A slug appears in the URL (or web page address).
- Needs to be in all lowercase
- use dashes (-) to separate words in the slug. No spaces.
- Use the primary keywords relevant to the story.
When you look in the address bar for this page, the slug part of the address is "slug." Preceeding the slug are the categories this page is placed in: "tutorials" and "test."
"Slugs are usually a URL friendly version of the post title. Slugs are meant to be used with permalinks as they help describe what the content at the URL is."
