GRAYLYN ASSOCIATES AND FINANCIAL RESEARCH CORPORATION TO

HOLD "PHILANTHROPIC INVESTMENT ROUNDTABLE" ON OCTOBER 4th

Establishing Scholarship Aid for Children of Victims from the Investment Management Community

Chatham -- Graylyn Associates, Inc. of Chatham, MA and Financial Research Corporation (FRC) of Boston, MA announced today that they will hold an "Investment Roundtable" on October 4th, to unite investment management industry professionals in a forum to discuss the impact of the tragic events of September 11 on the short- and long-term challenges facing the financial services industry. Additionally, at the Roundtable , the groups will announce the establishment of a scholarship fund to provide educational aid to children of victims from the financial services industry.

The infrastructure and resources of many firms have been significantly altered and we are seeing signs of cooperation and a dedication to rebuilding. Market momentum has been impacted along with the mood and reaction of the consumer. The economic climate both domestic and international has been altered and the sobering effects of terrorism may play a significant role in the future of the financial services system.

Thanks to the generous donation of the meeting space from The Colonnade Hotel, the Investment Roundtable will be held on Thursday, October 4th in Boston replacing the MarkeTrends 2001 Conference that has been rescheduled for December 5-6. Attendees will include leading industry professionals who will share their insight on the strategies and tactics that firms across this industry will need to consider as they plan for the future. The forum is structured to be highly interactive and the sessions will be open to all investment management professionals. If anyone is unable to attend in person, a Boston-based webcasting firm is contributing their services so that professionals around the globe can take part. Our hope is that those that attend via the net will be made to feel connected during a time of uncertainty, rebuilding, and most importantly sharing. Admission to this meeting is FREE.

During the Roundtable, Graylyn Associates and FRC will announce the formation of a scholarship fund for the family members of the victims of the terrorist attacks. Companies in the financial services industry will be encouraged to support this scholarship fund, which is being developed to provide philanthropic assistance to those most affected by this tragedy.

"Last week’s events have deeply touched us all. We wanted to try to create something positive for those around the world and most importantly for our industry," said Darby Hobbs, president, Graylyn Associates. "Our objective is to ‘unite’ our industry through one gesture of goodwill and engage in a discussion that can help share ideas, leverage our collected strengths and impart knowledge on key strategic and organizational issues that each of us will face," Hobbs added.

The Roundtable will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. with lunch being served during introductory remarks. Leading industry professionals will facilitate panel discussions and create an open dialogue with the audience — both those present and on-line. "The tragic events of September 11th have left our community - business and otherwise - bruised, but not broken," said Andrew Celentano, CEO and President of SkyWorld Interactive, one of the speakers at the Roundtable . According to Mary DeBisschop, Account Group Manager at Market Facts, Inc. whose firm is also represented at the Roundtable , "This roundtable provides a very unique forum for issues to be discussed — for people to come together who wouldn’t normally get the opportunity."
