Job 5597: Sr. Fixed Income Portfolio Manager
Location City: Grand Rapids
Location State: MI
Base Salary: 100,000 -110,000
Position Responsibilities: Develops, recommends, and directs
execution of investment programs designed to achieve the objectives
of a group of large and complex client accounts. Acts independently
within established investment policy guidelines. Will manage
approximately 20 to 25 relationship accounts, averaging 20 to 25
million dollars each. Experience with customizing specialty
investments, research equity analysis, institutional funds
management and private client experience. Experience in funds
management and creative investment strategies, (i.e. REITS, private
exchange funds, derivative strategies, interest rate swaps, and
arbitrage strategies). Develops clients and new sources of
investment business through frequent contact, usually for
portfolios/relationships of a substantial size and complexity.
Ensures a maximum rate of return from investments consistent with
an acceptable level of risk. Directs the activities of Junior
Portfolio managers who make daily investment decisions concerning
portions of the bank's investment portfolio. Stays informed of
market trends and analyzes the effect of these trends on the
assigned portion of the investment portfolio. Mentors less
experienced Portfolio Managers. Consults with major clients to
develop investment objectives. Keeps current on the legal and tax
issues with respect to investment decisions by consulting
attorneys, accountants and other resources as needed. May also have
some of the following supervisory duties: makes and approves
decisions, within policy, regarding employment, performance
ratings, promotions, salary recommendations, transfers, and
terminations.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors, CFA
designation is required
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree
required. CFA designation is required 10 or more years of
investment experience required. Proven relationship management
experience desired. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
necessary.
Preferred Qualifications: MBA preferred.
