GoldK Partners with MSCS to Provide Back-office Solution for Banks

WALTHAM, MA, October 22, 2002 – GoldK, a leading provider of employer-sponsored online retirement plans, announced today that it has implemented the automated mutual fund trading platform offered by Matrix Settlement & Clearance Services, LLC ("MSCS"). GoldK and MSCS can now enable bank trust departments to automate mutual fund transactions and reconciliation for retirement-plan customers.

"Bank trust departments have a desperate need to get out of a manual processing environment and automate," said John Bosley, vice president and managing director at GoldK. "Teaming with MSCS is a terrific new relationship for us. Our combined capabilities complement each other perfectly, giving us the ability to deliver a service that is truly distinct in the market."

Added John Moody, president of MSCS, "Delivering files to trust departments in formats that are specifically prepared for an automated upload gives our customers a real advantage over their competition. They gain better efficiency and accuracy, and at a reduced expense."

GoldK currently serves as an outsourced provider of retirement-plan services for many banks and trust companies. One of them is Anawon Trust, a bank based in Attleboro, Massachusetts that offers investment management, estate and financial planning and employee benefit plans to its clients. Jean Ronn, senior vice president and chief trust officer at Anawon, believes that the new GoldK/MSCS service fits a pressing need most banks have. "Customers expect timeliness and accuracy in their retirement-plan transactions," Ms. Ronn said. "This new automated link to our Charlotte trust accounting system gets the job done for our Internet-based retirement product in a way that hasn’t been possible before. We will save a significant amount of time and eliminate the chance of errors. We have enjoyed tremendous success thus far in offering GoldK retirement plans and once again, GoldK is delivering another great enhancement."
