Florida Banking Association Recognizes Outstanding Contributions

PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Trust, Asset Management & Private Banking Division of the Florida Bankers Association (FBA) has selected co-winners of its 2001 Friend of the Trust Industry award: Glen Johnson of Federated Investors and Bruce Stone, partner with Holland & Knight Law firm.

Johnson has been a devoted benefactor of FBA's Trust Division and its Trust School. For more than a decade, the Trust Division has depended on him

to support its causes. He has donated countless hours and financial resources to increase the visibility and credibility of the Division and industry.

Johnson is a former chairman of the board of trustees for Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, and a trustee for Boston University's Morin Center for Banking Law Studies. He received the Silver Shingle Award for Distinguished Public Service from Boston University School of Law and has been Who's Who in America for the last 28 years.

Practicing in Miami, Stone is a vocal advocate of cooperation between the legal and banking professions. Past chair of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, Bruce has worked tirelessly with Florida's banking community on numerous legislative initiatives. He was named One of the 45 Best Trust and Estates Lawyers in the United States by Town & Country magazine in August 1998.

Stone is the Florida Chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He is past president of the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami. In addition to his law practice, Bruce is an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law, where he teaches courses in the graduate estate planning program. He is also a member of the board of advisors of the University of Miami Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning.
