The article “Dumont Stands” in the June 2006 issue incorrectly stated that the New York Court of Appeals (the state's highest court) had denied the motion for appeal of the appellate division's decision in Dumont. Permission to appeal to New York's highest court can be obtained in certain cases either from the appellate division or from New York high court itself. On April 28, the appellate division denied the petition for appeal of its decision in Dumont. At presstime for the July issue, New York's highest court had not yet decided whether to grant the appeal.
